Our Sabbath

Standard

we-love-awanas-08-copyAbout a year ago, we started visiting a new church.  A friend invited my kids to come to the AWANA club that night.  They went, and they haven’t missed it since.  My kids have loved AWANAS.  They love the silly games, they love memorizing verses and they especially love the theme nights.  In fact, I was so impressed at how much they enjoyed club that I volunteered to be the 1st grade leader, so now I get to particpate with them this year.

Generally, on Sundays, we go out to eat with friends and then come home to work on our AWANA verses.  For about an hour, we work on memorizing verses and doing other projects.  Afterwards, they take time to play and then we go to AWANAS in the evening.  By spending so much time focusing our Sunday on Scripture and spending time with friends, I’ve begun to feel like I’m taking more of a real Sabbath rest.  Thanks AWANAS.
